He was her stepfathers rich younger brother and he had always been good to her. She asked him to help her find a part time job, but he had another idea. He suggested a trade. He could pay for her education and she could give him something very precious, something she could only give once. Will she do it?Excerpt:After dinner was finished, when they left the restaurant, Cathy was surprised that Uncle Bernie headed away from the parking lot.“Let’s walk along the lake. We can talk while we walk,” he said casually. She shrugged and followed him. He didn’t say anything until they were well away from the restaurant. There was no one else around when he finally spoke up.“Cathy, I know you are an excellent student and it is important to me that you get your education.”“You’ve always taken care of me,” she said, and took his hand.Bernie looked down at her hand grasping his. “Yes, I have. And I want to help you with this. But I’m going to ask you for something in return.”Cathy sensed that he was feeling a little nervous. She heard him draw in a deep breath before he spoke.“Cathy, would you be willing to do something, something big, for me? In exchange for me helping you with your expenses, I mean?”“Sure, Uncle Bernie. I’d do anything for you. And not just because you’re helping me with college. I’d do it because you asked. You’ve always been good to me.”“Yes, I have,” Bernie said slowly. Then, “Cathy, are you still a virgin?”Cathy giggled. She was looking away at the water but turned back to him at his words. “Uncle Bernie, I can’t believe you asked me that.”
