For your further enjoyment I have added a short story and poetry. The main characters are an elderly couple whose marriage has become dysfunctional after a traumatic event. They cannot live together nor can they live apart. She is a fishing widow whilst he becomes a nit-picking introspective loner, a seeker of solitude. His discovery that his wife has a secret lover whose motoring trips he decides to follow. This leads him into a series of misadventures whose outcome is insightful. This causes conflict within himself. Fortunately a wandering spirit comes to his rescue, which nudges him towards a more realistic compromise to his domestic situation. The short story is about life in the Kulags under Stalin’s regime.Dedicated to the staff of the Resource Centre- Earlsdon, Coventry.Without whose help I could not have written this novel.
